Every Tuesday this month, I’ll post a link to one of my articles along with the backstory about how the piece came to be.
I first heard about “parklets” (mini-parks the size of a few street parking spaces) when they were popping up in Philadelphia. With a bit of research, I learned San Francisco was the leader in the parklet movement and that cities across the country were embracing these tiny oases amid urban jungles.
I pitched the story to Parks and Recreation, a trade magazine for park professionals. You can read the piece here.
