Every Sunday this month, I’ll post a link to one of my favorite pieces of nonfiction. These are the stories that make you want to curl up with a cup of coffee and stay put until you’ve finished the last word. Happy reading!

Some consider “Pearls Before Breakfast” no more than a journalistic stunt. But the piece, which tracks one of the nation’s greatest musicians as he performs at a Washington, D.C., metro station, says so much about the way we live now. The Washington Post story won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for feature writing.
